Boston terrier fashion!

Who knew that the Boston terrier would be this year's "it" breed in the world of little girls clothing? It's a mixed blessing for shopoholics/Boston owners like myself - the t-shirts and outfits are adorable, but I end up feeling compelled to purchase all of them! It started out over Memorial Day weekend when I was shopping with my friend Missy down in Wellington. There was a white tank top with a Boston on it. Oh! How cute! Gotta have it! You just don't see that many shirts with Boston terriers on them. Off to the register I went. Then a few weeks ago, Johnathan and I were walking past Old Navy when we caught sight of a pink shirt with a girly BT on it, decked out in a beaded necklace. Oh! How cute! Gotta have it! I like it even better than that white tank top! And off to the register we went. THEN, last week I was walking past Gymboree. I was telling myself that even though I had $25 in Gymbucks to redeem, I was going to resist buying Natalie any more clothes. I was just going in to take a quick look. Lo and behold, what do I find? An entire collection of BT merch! Curses! Foiled again! I was pretty good, though, and only bought two t-shirts (though I reserve the right to pick up more when it goes on sale). They had some cute white t-shirts, but white shirts and Natalie don't mix. I still don't get why they make any kid's clothing in white - they are such a stain magnet.

Anyway, I got the dumb idea to take a photo of Natalie in each of her Boston shirts. Originally the plan was to get Murphy in the pics with her. Of course, that was way too ambitious and we just settled for the best shots we could get. It is very cute to see Natalie and Murphy together. He is very patient with her and loves to give her kisses. She is eager to greet him every day when she gets home from school and he likes to hang around when she's eating because it inevitably means he'll be getting food from the table. Sometimes he does need his "alone time" under the bed, though, and Natalie has been known to try and crawl underneath with him. I think these two will be partners in crime for a long time to come!

We call him "young man" -- Mr. Murphy. He acts like a young man even though in dog years he is in his 40s pushing 50. Murphy turns 6 this November in numerical/calendar years. jb
