It's a busy time for Natalie bear. So many new things happening so quickly as her first birthday rapidly approaches. When we left for the cruise, she was just learning how to pull herself up to standing and it was often a very slow process. Now we set her down in front of a chair, ottoman, dog, etc. and she's climbing on it like a monkey. She can stand up unassisted for longer and longer periods of time and is experimenting with walking, though I think we've got at least a month before that happens. We also finally have a tooth poking through on the bottom. I thought she might never get teeth! It's causing her a little discomfort but overall she's still a pretty happy girl. Yesterday we went to the water fountains at the park with my friend Kelly and her daughters, who Natalie loves like big sisters. Especially Katie, who you'll see in the video above. She adores "Baby Natalie" and always greets her enthusiastically. I had to bring Natalie over to their house for babysitting last week and Kelly told me that Katie was being grouchy earlier that day so she told Katie that if she didn't behave better that Baby Natalie wasn't going to come over and that made Katie change her attitude immediately! So funny!
We are getting into the final preparations for Natalie's birthday party next weekend. It's going to be at a nearby park on the water. Looks like we're going to have around 20 people, which is a lot more than I had originally planned, but I think it's going to be a lot of fun. We're doing a bear theme, of course, and the plates, napkins, party hats and cups arrived the other day and they are precious! Natalie has a special shirt and tutu to wear. You can definitely expect to see lots of pictures from her big day!
