We took Natalie to the park and pier at Ballast Point today. The weather has been wonderful lately and we are taking full advantage by spending as much time outside as possible. Whenever we go to the park, Natalie's favorite activity is swinging (pronounced "swin-ning" and not to be confused with "swimming"). It's hard to get her off the swings once we get started, but today she was fairly compliant when we said it was time to go walk on the pier. We saw the water, birds and even a stingray caught by one of the fishermen. Another man who was fishing with his sons held up a grunt that he'd caught so Natalie could inspect it. The little boys wanted to touch the fish and I suspect Natalie would have, too, but I said no - I didn't want to have to clean fish smell off her hands!
After we finished on the pier, we headed across the street to the stables and Natalie got to visit with the horsies. She would have certainly scaled the fence if we had let her. She really wanted to go and get a closer look and was pretty vocal when we said it was time to leave. I'm sure we will be back there soon, though, especially if the weather stays as nice as it has been. Enjoy the pics!
